I've been pondering a Keltec P11 9mm, they seem quite inexpensive and dang are they small.. what do you guys think of them. _________________ "I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"

I refuse to sell Kel Tecs any longer, as they have proven to be poorly manufactured. Most of my local business is competition, or LEO. Initially, they had a large following in the LEO market because of their size and price point. I have had to send back more than a third of the Kel Tecs I have sold due to breakages and failures of different types. Two local LE agencies will no longer permit them for use, whether backup or off-duty, due to breakages while qualifying alone! If we can make the criminals of the world as fond of Kel Tecs as they have become of Glocks, the world will be a safer place.
I personally use a Glock 36 to backup my 1911s. While it is heavier and more expensive, it goes bang everytime, and I have never had to send one back.

Yep, we've got a 36 in the house, it's sorta like the black sheep of the family *only glock at current*. Fine pistol fairly accurate, good gun overall. Main reason i was curious about the keltec is 1, its so dang tiny/light, 2, it's so cheap, 3, time to review another gun for the site and the SIG GSR loaner hasn't happened yet after 2 months of promises and i'm getting antsy for new content and its so close to christmas can't really afford to drop appreciable change on a new pistola.
Either way the general concensus i've got is it isn't reliable enough to trust 100%, you've successfully reaffirmed that, as has chuck and half of the rest of the free world, and the input is GREATLY appreciated. I'll prolly buy one anyway about springtime to stress test it and do a review, i mean.. ya can't have *all* good reviews _________________ "I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"

I don't know why some have had problems when other's don't concerning Kel-Tec. We sell Kel-Tec and I only had one come back with a problem and that was the owner's error.
The local LIO's still carry them here in NC. Mostly in the .380 caliber.
I also keep one on me most of the time. I test it at the range once a month. The only thing with mine is it doesn't like cheap ammo.
Should you decide to get one, also get a pocket holster.

I see there is a lot of negative replies about the p11. BUT..........I have a p11 and a pf9 and after I polished the ramps I have had 0 failures of any kind. I love both of them. I'm carrying the pf9 right now. My number one carry is my glock 23 but I carry the KTs a lot.
