I was installing a set of bases on my 10/22 and had the torque wrench set too high. I stripped out on of the holes. Is this repairable? If so is it something that I can do or should I take it to a gunsmith? I am mechanically inclined, but not used to working with alluminum. Crying or Very sad

it just so happens iv done repairs on alu.

you will need a small copper block, a TIG welder and some sanding tools like a DA and sandpaper.

you will need to put the copper block underneith the threaded hole and weld and fill in the threaded hole.

then sand it down flat, re drill and tap and spray again.

if you dont have this equipment there is another method as illistrated in this link below.
